1 Peter 5:12–14
12 5:12By Silvanus, a faithful brother as I regard him, I have written briefly to you, exhorting and declaring that this is the true grace of God. Stand firm in it. 13 5:13She who is at Babylon, who is likewise chosen, sends you greetings, and so does Mark, my son. 14 5:14Greet one another with the kiss of love.
Peace to all of you who are in Christ.
Section Overview
Peter has come to the conclusion of what he considers a “brief” letter. His closing exhortation is simple and to the point: what he has written, not another gospel or the counsel of self-professed “wise” men, is “the true grace of God.” It is where we must stand. It is what we must believe. It is the abiding strength of our lives and the source of “love” among believers.

Response
There is only one appropriate response as we come to the end of Peter’s letter. We must, by his power and for his glory, “stand firm” in the glorious grace that is ours in and through Jesus Christ.
