2 Thessalonians 3:13–15
13 3:13As for you, brothers, do not grow weary in doing good. 14 3:14If anyone does not obey what we say in this letter, take note of that person, and have nothing to do with him, that he may be ashamed. 15 3:15Do not regard him as an enemy, but warn him as a brother.
Section Overview
Paul charges the church to persevere in their good works. Paul and his colleagues then underscore the previous instruction in the letter (especially the directives against idleness) by commanding the church to disassociate from those who disobey the apostolic teaching. However, such disobedient participants in the church are still to be considered brothers in the Lord, and they should be warned so that they may repent and experience the full benefits of following the Lord.

Response
We are not saved by good works, but we honor our crucified and risen Savior as we persevere in doing good for the sake of his name. Those who refuse to pay heed to the clear teaching of Scripture, on the other hand, need to be rebuked by the church, even as we pray for and love them. At times it becomes necessary to disassociate from others when they refuse repeatedly the loving admonition of fellow believers, although we always do so with the caring desire that such erring brothers and sisters may return to following Christ. We should not rush to disassociate from fellow believers, since we all need the mutual support of Christian fellowship in order to remain encouraged in our Christian walk.
